Video Visits
Video visits are a convenient way to see your provider without leaving the comfort of your home. Video visits are completed securely through your mobile device or computer and are a safe and easy alternative for you to
consult with your provider or care team.
Schedule a video visit
- Call1-855-FAIRVIEW to schedule a video visit appointment. For urgent access to virtual care, please visit our 24/7 online clinic at OnCare.org.
Complete a video visit
- Group Therapy and American Sign Language (ASL) patients: Go here.
- All other Non-MyChart patients: Go here.
- All other MyChart patients: Use your MyChart account to get connected. Visit the MyChart signup page if you need to create a new account.
- Fairview and M Physicians patients: Go here.
- HealthEast patients: Go here.
- Download the MyChart app or prepare your computer for a video visit (see below).

If using a mobile device
You will need:
- Mobile device with a camera, microphone and speaker.
- MyChart app (Go here for steps on how to get the MyChart app on your mobile device).
- Secure internet connection. Wireless (Wi-Fi) connection is better than cellular data.
Instructions:
- Open the MyChart app on your mobile device.
- If this is the first time using the app, select Add Organization and search for "MHealth".
- Fairview and M Physicians patients: Select the M Health Fairview and M Physicians logo.
- HealthEast patients: Select the HealthEast is now M Health Fairview logo.
- Log in to the MyChart app.
- Click Visits, then locate your upcoming video visit.
- Complete the eCheck-In process.
- Note: If you're already checked in for your visit, the eCheck-In button will not appear.
- Click the Begin Visit button when it appears at the bottom of the screen. This will launch you to our Virtual Visit web page.
- You will be prompted to complete a technology check and confirm your call back number. Follow the steps to make sure your mobile device has everything needed for your video
visit.
- After the technology check is complete, you will enter the waiting room. Please wait on this screen until someone from your care team connects with you.
If using a computer
You will need:
- Computer with a camera, microphone and speaker.
- You will need the latest version of one of these internet browsers: Google Chrome, Edge Chromium, or Safari. Google Chrome is the recommended browser. Download it at google.com/chrome/
- Secure internet connection. Wired connection is better than wireless (Wi-Fi).
Instructions:
- Log in to the MyChart web page.
- Fairview and M Physicians patients: Go here.
- HealthEast patients: Go here.
- Click Visits, then locate your upcoming video visit.
- Complete the eCheck-In process.
- Note: If you're already checked in for your visit, the ECHECK-IN button will not appear. Select the DETAILS button instead.
- Click the BEGIN VIDEO VISIT button. This will launch you to our Virtual Visit web page.
- You will be prompted to complete a technology check and confirm your callback number. Follow the steps to make sure your computer has everything needed for your video visit
- After the technology check is complete, you will enter the waiting room. Please wait on this screen until someone from your care team connects with you.
Video visit tips
- Make sure your computer or mobile device is charged or plugged in to a power source.
- Make sure you have a secure internet connection for your computer or mobile device. Wired connection is better than wireless (Wi-Fi). Wired or wireless connection is better than cellular data for mobile devices.
- Disable pop up blockers on your computer or mobile device to allow the Virtual Visit web page to load correctly.
- Minimize other websites/apps running on your computer or mobile device while you’re in the video visit.
- Find a private space in a quiet, well-lit area without distractions. Take a seat, if possible (so you don’t move).
- Set the camera down at eye level, if possible (instead of holding it).
- Dress as you would if you were being seen in the clinic.
- Have your phone ready in case your care team needs to contact you for any reason.
Privacy: Video visits are done using secure, HIPAA-compliant video connections. Unauthorized recording is not allowed.
