Fairview Range includes Fairview Range Medical Center, Fairview Mesaba Clinics (with locations in Hibbing, Nashwauk and Mountain Iron), home care and hospice services. Fairview Range is an affiliate of M Health Fairview, a partnership of Fairview Health Services, the University of Minnesota and M Physicians.
Fairview Range provides exceptional care to each patient, every day. We promise care that is safe, effective, patient focused, timely, efficient, and equitable — so patients receive the right care at the right time in the right setting. We meet each patient's needs, from prevention and disease management to the most complex, life-threatening injuries and illnesses.
Fairview's partnership with the University of Minnesota enhances our ability to deliver on our promise, expanding our care beyond community-based hospitals and clinics to the world-class, breakthrough advances available at the state's premier research university.
Caring for the Community
Fairview Range works with community members, local nonprofit organizations, and public health departments to understand the health needs and strengths of our community through a formal process known as a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
The process provides an important opportunity to engage with and understand our community, analyze what has changed since the last assessment, and prioritize together with the community the issues we must urgently address in order to improve community health and health equity inside and outside of our hospital and clinic walls.
During our 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), the greatest priorities of the community were identified as:
- Accessing and navigating care and resources
- Addressing structural racism and barriers to equity
- Cultivating trust, belonging and healing

Your Voice Matters!
At Fairview Range, we know that patients and their families have important insights that can help us improve our care. To support this, we created the Patient & Family Advisory Council, a collaborative group bringing together diverse perspectives to make a meaningful difference.
This council gives you the chance to share your experiences, ideas, and feedback to help shape the care we provide and make it better for everyone.

Who Can Join?
We invite current patients, family members, and caregivers to become a patient-family advisor. By sharing your stories and perspectives, you’ll contribute to a care model focused on the needs of patients and families, leading to enhanced experiences for all.
We want the council to reflect the diversity of our patients and families, so everyone feels heard. The group has up to 18 members, with most seats reserved for patients and family members. Members commit to at least one year and can serve longer if they'd like.
How to Get Involved
Joining is a great way to give back and make a real impact. Together, we can ensure that every individual at Fairview Range feels respected, supported and cared for.
If you're interested or want to learn more, we'd love to hear from you! Apply today and start making a difference!
Fairview’s systemwide Land Acknowledgement inspired us to explore a more localized approach that reflects the unique history and Tribal Nations connected to our region. Our team at Fairview Range engaged employees, community partners, and local tribal members to thoughtfully create a Land Acknowledgement for our site. Along the way, we recognized the importance of building stronger relationships and deepening our understanding, and we have continued that work with intention. We are proud to share this Land Acknowledgement to honor both the land we occupy and the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded it.
Fairview Range Land Acknowledgment
We gratefully and respectfully acknowledge Fairview Range is located on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands cared for and called home by Indigenous people.
This sacred land does not belong to us. We are occupiers here who have also come to call this land home, where the water reflects the sky.
Mni Sota Makoce (Minnesota) is the homeland of the Dakota and Anishinaabe peoples and other Native nations, whose ancient relationships and historic connection to this land continue to this day.
We recognize and honor the eleven tribes that call Minnesota home - including our closest Tribal nations of Leech Lake, Fond du Lac, and Bois Forte – and are committed to ongoing efforts to recognize, support and advocate for Native nations and peoples.
We acknowledge the broken treaties of 1854 and 1855 and the complex and layered history of this land, which holds great historical, spiritual, and personal significance for its original stewards, the Native nations, and peoples of this region.
While we cannot undo the wrongs and do not want to disguise the past, we must be forthright about the journey today and thus take restorative action.
We realize a land acknowledgment is only a starting point. We must understand the impacts of this history on the generations of the past and the generations of the future and our ongoing relationships, action, and support for Indigenous communities.
By extending and fostering friendships and partnerships with our Indigenous neighbors, we seek to pursue a greater level of awareness, respect, appreciation, and understanding for our place in history. We endeavor to learn and lead by example through our words, actions, and reverence for this sacred land on which we live, work, and serve.
