The caring staff at The Birthplace at Fairview and HealthEast Maternity Care Centers proudly delivers thousands of babies every year. Our skill and experience are here to support you from your very first appointment to the day you bring your baby home. Whichever hospital you choose, our health care team will make sure that your birth experience is one you will treasure.
Your and your baby’s health and well-being are our main concerns. Each birth is unique, and you can rest easy knowing that we have the skill and experience to handle every type of delivery situation, from routine to high-risk.
We offer patients care from OB/GYN and family medicine providers as well as certified nurse midwives.
Preparing for labor
We offer classes to help you prepare for delivery, learn about labor techniques and help with parenting after the baby arrives. Topics covered include breast-feeding, sleeping and general newborn care.
Patient comfort and safety
Our comfortable, secure birthing and postpartum rooms are outfitted with the latest technology, assuring the best treatment for you and your baby.
Neonatal intensive care unit
While most births occur without complications, several of our hospitals have a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) which offers medical monitoring and specialized care. Neonatologists at Fairview Ridges Hospital, Fairview Southdale Hospital, HealthEast St. John’s Hospital, and University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital provide around-the-clock care for babies who are born prematurely, have a low birth weight, or experience other medical complications. In addition, Woodwinds Health Campus offers a special care nursery for infants who are born up to six weeks prematurely or need extra care after birth.
Care before, during and after the birth of your baby
Our nurses, doctors and midwives are here to help you throughout your pregnancy and birth experience. We make sure all of our parents receive the care and support they deserve as they welcome a new member to their family. The safety and health of mothers and babies is our top priority.
Whether you’re starting a family or facing changing needs over time, Fairview care providers offer a personalized touch delivered with a passion for women’s health. We also have the largest OB/GYN and midwife team in the state, meaning you receive comprehensive, connected health services, creating moments of true care.
