Informational Picketing Notice

Hospital will operate like any other day

Several Twin Cities hospitals are currently engaged in collective bargaining negotiations with the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) for new union contracts covering the registered nurses who work at these hospitals. The union has announced its plans to conduct informational picketing at the following locations within our health system:
  • University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank: Wednesday, May 29, 1 to 6 p.m.
During informational picketing, our hospitals will operate like any other day. We will continue to provide the same great care and service to our patients and the community.

What you need to know

  • On the day of the picketing, the hospital will operate like it would on any other day. Our security teams will be working to minimize disruption and ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, and staff.
  • This is informational picketing only; it is not a strike or work stoppage.
  • Visitor parking: Under Minnesota State Law, all vehicles must come to a complete stop before entering or leaving the parking areas where picketing is taking place. After coming to a complete stop, proceed with caution.
