Fairview Range includes Fairview Range Medical Center, three primary care clinics, a wide range of specialty services, home care, and senior services. Our physicians are connected to Fairview clinics and hospitals all across the state, including University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Fairview Range Medical Center

Our main facility, located in Hibbing, provides advanced, high technology, inpatient and outpatient care and offers more than 60 medical services, including surgery, urology, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, radiation therapy, sleep medicine, sports medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, otolaryngology (ENT), and more.

Fairview Mesaba Clinics

Our community-based clinics, with sites in Hibbing, Mountain Iron, and Nashwauk, provide convenient access to primary and specialty care.

Fairview Range Home Medical Equipment and Fairview Range Home Care and Hospice

Community-based home health care and hospice services that support and complement both Fairview Range Medical Center and Fairview Mesaba Clinics across the continuum of patient care. Our Home Medical Equipment locations provide delivery throughout northeast Minnesota, and we offer Home Care and Hospice services offered across the region.

Board Structure

Our board of directors provides community-based leadership and guidance for an integrated health care delivery system to Fairview Range that is in the best interest of the patients and residents it serves on the Iron Range and throughout northeast Minnesota.

The Fairview Range board of directors is comprised of system directors from Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, local community members, and physicians employed by Fairview Range.

Joint Commission Accreditation
Fairview Range Medical Center, Fairview Mesaba Clinics and Fairview Range Home Medical Equipment and Fairview Range Home Care and Hospice are accredited through The Joint Commission. This agency serves to help insure and monitor the quality and safety of patient care. We are committed to providing safe and quality care to all patients served.

Commission on Cancer Accreditation

Fairview Range Medical Center is proud to be accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a program of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS). CoC accreditation recognizes cancer care programs for their commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality, and multidisciplinary patient centered care. The CoC is dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.

ACR Nuclear Medicine Accreditation

Fairview Range Medical Center (FRMC) has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in nuclear medicine as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.

Fairview Range Medical Center is proud to be designated a Level III Trauma Center, which demonstrates our commitment to providing exceptional trauma care to the patients of our region 24/7, 365 days a year.

Acute Stroke Ready Hospital

The Acute Stroke Ready Hospital designation recognizes Fairview Range Medical Center for having a designated trained stroke team available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to care for patients experiencing stroke-like symptoms.

Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence
This distinguished honor, through the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program™ (NQMBC™ ), represents a commitment by our breast center to provide the highest level of quality breast health care to patients in our community.

Fairview Range has recently been honored with following awards :

Fairview Range was recognized for superior performance in workplace safety and health. The organization is one of 279 employers that were honored through the awards program, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council.

Six Fairview hospitals, including Fairview Range Medical Center, are recipients of the Get With the Guidelines award for heart failure care, the highest quality distinction from the American Heart Association.

Fairview Mesaba Clinics-Hibbing and Nashwauk were among 248 Minnesota and border state clinics recognized for improving care delivery and outcomes for patients with diabetes, vascular disease, and depression as part of the 2017 Minnesota Bridges to Excellence (MNBTE) program and the Quality Incentive Payment System, a State of Minnesota pay-for-performance program administered by The Action Group.

Fairview Range is among a select group of hospitals and transplant centers nationwide Awarded platinum recognition for promoting enrollment in state organ donor registries in a national campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Fairview Range Medical Center was awarded Bronze Honor Roll Recognition through the Minnesota One Health Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative. Antibiotic stewardship consists of coordinated interventions aimed at treating infections while promoting judicious antibiotic use.

Fairview Range Home Care and Hospice has been named a 2017 HHCAHPS Honors recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst. HHCAHPS Honors is a prestigious award recognizing home health agencies that continuously provide quality care as measured from the patient’s point of view.

Charitable contributions, sponsorships and community events must be aligned with Fairview’s mission to heal, discover and educate for longer, healthier lives and our strategic priorities and business goals.

Definitions:
Charitable contributions are gifts of cash or physical assets (e.g. supplies or promotional items) made to non-profit organizations outside of Fairview to be used for various charitable activities. These donations are made with no expectation of tangible benefit.

Sponsorships are cash donations made to an event organized by non-profit groups in the community. The participation fees are typically in excess of the tangible benefits received.

Community events are health or community activities provided or supported by Fairview within our designated service areas. Such activities would include event sponsorships, health fairs, drug awareness events and other health education classes offered.

Patients and families at Fairview Range Medical Center can use CaringBridge, a nonprofit organization, to allow family and friends to stay in touch before, during and after hospitalization. Using CaringBridge, you can create and update a free, private and personalized web page where you can share your latest news with friends and family, and receive messages of support anytime, anywhere, and on any device.

CaringBridge websites offer a personal and private space to communicate and show support, saving time and emotional energy when health matters most. The websites are easy to create and use. Authors add health updates and photos to share their story while visitors leave messages of love, hope and compassion in the guestbook.
