HealthEast Nurse Residency Program
The HealthEast Nurse Residency program focuses on supporting new graduate nurses as they make the transition from academics into professional nursing practice.
The year-long program provides opportunities for you to acquire the knowledge and skills to deliver safe, high-quality care to your patients and their families.
As a participant in the program, you will:
- Receive extensive orientation on your unit with a primary and secondary preceptor
- Attend 12 education sessions in which you will learn about various topics related to professional nursing practice and engage in hands-on skill practice
- Receive guidance in your professional development through support and encouragement from a mentor
How to participate
Apply for a new graduate-eligible position in acute care at Bethesda Hospital, HealthEast St. John’s Hospital, HealthEast St. Joseph’s Hospital, or Woodwinds Health Campus. Once selected for a position, you are automatically enrolled in the program.
