Fairview hospitals hold top two spots in the Twin Cities, with five in the Top 10
Fairview hospitals earned the top two positions in the Twin Cities and account for five of the region’s top 10 hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-27 Best Hospitals rankings.
Fairview Minneapolis University Hospitals, known today as M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center, is once again the No. 1 hospital in the Twin Cities and rose to No. 2 in Minnesota.
Fairview Southdale Hospital moved up to No. 2 in the Twin Cities and No. 3 statewide. Fairview St. John’s Hospital, Fairview Ridges Hospital, and Fairview Woodwinds Hospital also ranked among the Twin Cities’ top 10.
Together, Fairview hospitals account for five of the Twin Cities’ top 10 hospitals, up from three last year, reflecting strong performance across Fairview’s academic and community hospitals.
Recognition rooted in exceptional care

Fairview Minneapolis University Hospitals also earned national recognition for excellence in cancer care and rehabilitation services and was recognized as a “Best Regional Hospital for Community Access.” This designation recognizes hospitals that provide high-quality care to patients across all socioeconomic backgrounds.
Across the system, Fairview hospitals earned 62 “High Performing” ratings for procedures and treatments, up from 50 last year, in areas ranging from knee replacement and diabetes care to stroke treatment and heart bypass surgery.
