In 2015, sisters Abigail and Zoey, both born with genetic hearing loss, underwent cochlear implant surgery to help restore their ability to hear. Much different than a hearing aid, a cochlear implant does the work of the inner ear and provides sound signals to the brain.
The cochlear implant helped both sisters hear and assisted with speech development. Now, Abigail and Zoey are able to speak and communicate–something their parents weren’t sure they would ever experience.
Because of your generous donations, Abigail and Zoey’s family received funds to help cover a portion of this procedure.
