With HealthEast Heart Care expanding its Woodbury location, patients no longer have to drive elsewhere to get cardiovascular services. The expansion includes new patient rooms, testing and treatment for more conditions, and more appointments on more days.
A cardiac device clinic will also be opening at the Woodwinds Health Campus location in the coming months.
“It’s clear that people want to get as much care as they can close to home,” says cardiologist Thomas Johnson, MD. “This expansion is a great way to meet our patients where they are and help them receive all of their services in their community.”
HealthEast Heart Care has one of the most advanced teams in the region, bringing together cardiologists, surgeons, and other experts, including the resources of Fairview and University of Minnesota Health. It’s now the only place in Woodbury where you can see heart care providers five days a week.
HealthEast Heart Care is also the largest provider of heart care diagnostics in the Woodbury area. Services include:
Specialty treatment for heart failure and atrial fibrillation is now available at the Woodwinds location, too.
“This expansion is complementary to our in-patient services and emergency room at Woodwinds,” Dr. Johnson says. “Many in-patient heart conditions can be treated here.”
The new device clinic will provide services for pacemakers and implanted defibrillators. Patients can have their devices evaluated and adjusted right there, reducing the hassle factor for patients whose devices need to be checked yearly. It's scheduled to open in the spring.
The Woodbury device clinic will be the third HealthEast location offering this service in the East Metro.
