U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Six Fairview Hospitals

The publication evaluates more than 4,500 hospitals each year.

Fairview’s hospitals are among the best of the best, according to U.S. News & World Report. The publication recently recognized six of our hospitals for providing world-class patient care and named two to its 2017-18 "Best Hospitals" list.

Each year, U.S. News & World Report evaluates more than 4,500 hospitals across the nation, assessing objective measures such as survival and readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.

Hospitals are ranked nationally in 25 adult care specialties—from cancer to urology—and rated in common procedures and conditions such as heart bypass surgery, hip and knee replacement and colon cancer surgery.

Fairview’s 2017-18 rankings are as follows: 

Fairview Ridges Hospital (Burnsville, Minn.)
  • High-performing rating in knee replacement 
Fairview Southdale Hospital (Edina, Minn.)
St. John’s Hospital (Maplewood, Minn.)
  • High-performing rating in colon cancer surgery 
St. Joseph’s Hospital (St. Paul, Minn.)
  • High-performing rating in heart failure 

University of Minnesota Medical Center (Minneapolis, Minn.) 

Woodwinds Health Campus (Woodbury, Minn.)
  • High-performing rating in hip replacement and knee replacement
