Fairview Northland Medical Center has been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics, within the “small community hospital” peer comparison group.
The award recognizes hospitals and leadership teams that provide the highest level of value to their communities and scores organizational performance across 11 key measures including patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability.
“The 2016 100 Top Hospitals award winners represent the highest national standards in hospital care and management,” says Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president at Truven Health Analytics. “They set the benchmarks for peers around the country to follow.”
To identify the top 100 hospitals, Truven Health researchers evaluated almost 3,000 short-term, acute-care, nonfederal hospitals. From there, they analyzed several measures including Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR) data and core measures and patient satisfaction data from the CMS Hospital Compare reports.
