Fairview Earns 2016 Women’s Choice Award®

Fairview is proud to offer industry-leading care to women through all stages of life and to be recognized among the best hospitals nationwide in several areas, according to the Women’s Choice Award®.

Fairview Southdale Hospital recently received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award for bariatric surgery, obstetrics, heart care, stroke care, orthopedics and patient safety, while Fairview Northland Medical Center received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award for obstetrics.

The award program recognizes the country’s best health care institutions based on female perspectives on patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and hospital preferences.

“These awards highlight the commitment of our physicians and staff to providing high-quality, compassionate care,” said Bradley Beard, president of Fairview Southdale Hospital. “We strive to deliver an exceptional experience for each patient, every day.”

To receive these recognitions, hospitals must:

  • Meet the high standards of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
  • Perform well with regard to clinical measures and recommendation rates in heart care
  • Have a NICU on-site, low rates of early elective deliveries (between 0 and 1 percent) and rank above the national average for patient safety

Just 15 percent of hospitals nationwide earn the Women’s Choice Award for Obstetrics and are considered the top hospitals for child delivery.

“We are proud to be recognized among some of the best hospitals in the country,” said John Herman, president of Fairview Northland Medical Center. “Providing outstanding clinical care and experience for our patients and families is what we’re all about.”
