In a moment of crisis, you need someone you can trust. Fairview Southdale Hospital works tirelessly to gain and maintain this trust, particularly for stroke victims and their families.
We’re proud to share that Fairview Southdale Hospital has recently been certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by DNV GL Healthcare. This reflects the highest level of competence for treatment of serious stroke events.
“Every minute counts when you’re having a stroke,” says Alexander Zubkov, MD, medical director for the Stroke Center at Fairview Southdale Hospital. “Certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center recognizes that when every minute counts, patients can count on us to deliver expert care quickly, correctly and with compassion.”
The DNV GL Healthcare Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification is based on standards set forth by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association. The certification affirms that Fairview Southdale Hospital addresses the full spectrum of stroke care–diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education–and establishes clear metrics to evaluate outcomes.
“We have long been known for our life-saving stroke care,” says Bradley Beard, president, Fairview Southdale Hospital. “Certification validates all the effort that has gone into developing an exceptional stroke program that ensures patients go on to lead longer, healthier lives.”
The Stroke Center at Fairview Southdale Hospital offers a broad range of services and service providers, including emergency care, certified nurses, neurointerventional radiology, neuroradiology, rehabilitation, aftercare and support and more. Working together, these care teams provide patients with a level of clinical excellence that allows them to not only survive, but thrive after a stroke.
