Supplier Diversity Program

Fairview is committed to investing in the social and economic wellbeing of the communities we serve through everyday business practices.

As an anchor institution rooted in our communities and a large-scale purchaser of goods and services, our health system is committed to supporting diverse and local businesses. Through this process, we are creating socioeconomic impact by leveraging our supply chain to connect women-owned, minority-owned, and veteran-owned, local, and sustainable vendors to contracting opportunities within Fairview.

“Our health system is dedicated to maintaining a supply chain that is inclusive and supportive of companies owned by minorities, women, veterans, LGBTQIA2S+ people, and persons with disabilities.

Fairview believes that partnering with local diverse businesses is one way that we can help build community wealth and address social risk factors that contribute to poor health outcomes. This partnership allows us to support our communities while working toward making healthcare more equitable and accessible. ”

– James Hereford, Fairview President and CEO

Obtaining Supplier Diversity Certifications

While it is not a requirement for organizations to be certified, Fairview encourages diverse suppliers to obtain independent third-party certification. Certification is the process by which organizations verify that the business meets the criteria of ownership, control, and management to qualify as a minority, women, veteran, LGBTQIA2S+, and/or disabled individual-owned business.
