Inside Fairview Health Services

Spiritual Health Services

Fairview Spiritual Health Services provides comprehensive spiritual care
and counsel for all patients and families 24 hours a day, seven days a
week. We provide spiritual care to all Fairview hospitals, Ebenezer sites,
home care and  hospice, behavioral health, pediatrics, Transitions and
Life Choices and numerous specialty areas. Chaplains also provide staff
support and education, lead support groups and provide a great deal of
community education.

Spiritual Health
Representing diverse faiths, our chaplains provide spiritual care to Fairview
patients and their families who are open to and have need for spiritual care.
We also are available to provide prayer and ritual opportunities to meet patients'
expressed religious and spiritual needs.

Specialized Programs
To meet our patients's and families' needs throughout the Fairview we offer:

Fairview Clinical Pastoral Education Center
Fairview Clinical Pastoral Education Center
, first accredited in 1960, prepares
students of all beliefs for care ministry. We were the first center in the Midwest to
provide a full unit of CPE education. Currently, we are the second largest center
in the upper Midwest.

Church Relations
Currently, Fairview Church Relations counts 66 Lutheran congregations as partners
in community care.
These congregations provide leadership support to Fairview.
Each year, during the Fairview Annual Meeting, two representatives from each
congregation join Fairview's leadership as voting members to decide governance
issues.
Congregations also supply community support through Fairview Foundation-
supported parish nurse programs, immunization clinics and community health
education.

Our Fairview mission
To improve the health of the communities we serve. We commit our skills and resources
to the benefit of the whole person by providing the finest in health care, while addressing
the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals and their families. We further
pledge to support the research and education efforts of our partner, the University of
Minnesota and its tradition of excellence.
