People with multiple sclerosis who need financial assistance for assistive technology (AT) equipment and training may be eligible for special grants through Fairview Rehabilitation Services.
AT devices not typically covered by insurance may be funded by the grant and could include environmental control systems, computer access equipment and other technology required for increased independence.
General guidelines
- The grants provide resources after all other funding sources have been explored.
- Clients must be evaluated by Fairview Rehabilitation staff to insure that equipment requests are appropriate for the individual's skill level.
- Clients must demonstrate sufficient physical, cognitive, and visual skills for using assistive technology in a manner that will improve functional ability and/or quality of life.
