If you've experienced a cardiac event or are at-risk for heart disease, this class is for you.
Heart Healthy Living Exercise Class focuses on returning to independent physical activities and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise helps to improve function and stamina of the heart and reduces risk of further events. A community-based cardiac rehabilitation program, this class provides medically supervised aerobic activity, stretching and flexibility, strengthening, relaxation and education, and provides a fun, motivating environment to exercise regularly with other cardiac clients. Registered nurses and cardiac rehabilitation therapists work with clients to reinforce healthy habits, and provide resources and support for ongoing recovery.
Through this program, Clinical Nurse Specialist Lorene Brown, M.S., R.N., C.N.S., provides private and group consultation and education to clients with or at-risk for heart disease in community-based organizations such as the YMCA and the Jewish Community Centers.
