Inside Fairview Health Services

Fairview Injury Prevention Services

Workplace injuries cost money. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recently reported that work-related musculoskeletal disorders of the back, neck and upper extremities account for $15-20 billion in workers' compensation costs annually. Employers can improve productivity and profitability with injury prevention services.

At Fairview's Injury Prevention Services our goals are specific:

  • To enhance or create effective workplace ergonomics programs
    through employer-focused consultative services.
  • To decrease costs associated with employee work-related injuries
through workplace assessment, education and training.
  • To support employee well-being and performance by reducing the incidence
    and severity of work-related injuries.

Our injury prevention team partners with area employers to identify and evaluate workplace injury risks. We provide cost-effective solutions to improve work environments by controlling or reducing identified risk factors. Our services are tailored to meet your needs.

Services we provide

  • Job Site Consultation and Analysis
We identify workplace injury risk factors using work site tours; video observation; employee and employer interviews; work task, workstation and process analysis; and safety and injury record analysis. Recommendations may include work-station and equipment modifications or relocation, change in work process, or ergonomic-focused injury prevention and safety education for employees and management.
  • Injured or Disabled Worker Accommodation
Our staff evaluates the physical job requirements and recommends reasonable accommodations for employees returning to work while recovering from injury or for hiring a person with disabilities.
  • Training and Education
Classes for employees and management include individual/group training and education on such subjects as: hazard identification; principles and methods of injury prevention; workstation planning, design and modification; and Train-the-Trainer programs for continuity in ongoing injury prevention efforts.
  • Pre-Placement Assessments
We assist in matching employees to the physical job requirements.
