Fairview’s sponsorship programs are intended to fill critical vacancies within Fairview. If we do not anticipate vacancies to occur at the completion of the program, we cannot offer the sponsorships. Any Fairview hospital that has open positions at the time the program is completed will hire graduates of the program.

Eligibility
This sponsorship is offered by invitation only. Students enrolled in the following programs and assigned to Fairview for their clinical rotations may be invited to apply for this sponsorship:

Radiologic Technology:
Fairview-Normandale Community College
Argosy University/Twin Cities
The College of St. Catherine

Diagnostic Medical Sonography:
Argosy University/Twin Cities
The College of St. Catherine

In order to be eligible, students must currently be performing their clinical rotations at a Fairview facility (Fairview-Normandale and College of St. Catherine students must be in their 2nd year of classes/clinicals). Only students who are selected and recommended by Fairview radiology and imaging personnel may apply for this sponsorship.

Sponsorship amount
There are two sponsorship amounts:

• $5,000 stipend paid directly to the student for a 1-year full-time (64 to 80 hours per 2 weeks) work commitment. 
• $10,000 stipend paid directly to the student for a 2-year full-time (64 to 80 hours per 2 weeks) work commitment.

Note: The sponsorship is considered a “loan” by the IRS and accrues simple interest at 6 percent. The loan and interest are considered “forgiven” after the work commitment is completed, and do not need to be paid back. However, at that point, according to IRS guidelines, both the loan and interest become taxable income and are taxed at the supplemental rate of 38.9 percent.
