Acceptance Requirements


Who is eligible to be accepted?

Interested candidates must meet all of the following criteria:
· Graduated from an accredited high school or have equivalent certificate.
· Successfully completed part of the pre-requisite courses at Normandale Community College, or equivalent transfer credits, with a GPA   of at least  2.75.  A grade of "C" or higher is required for the General Education Requirement course work for Radiologic Technology.

-Non-residents who present high school or college records.   

-Students will be evaluated for acceptance by the School of Radiologic Technology. 


Radiologic Technologists must be able to:

  •  meet admission standards
  •  stand for long periods of time
  •  assist in lifting , transferring and moving patients
  •  move quickly throughout the clinical site
  •  lift more than thirty pounds routinely
  • be able to wear lead aprons (10-15 pounds) for 2-3 hours
  • manipulate radiographic equipment, which includes reaching above the head
  • effectively communicate with patients, family and staff
  • respond to requests from patients, physicians and other health care workers
  • distinguish shades of gray
  • read a computer screen
  • input and retrieve computer data through a keyboard
  • read charts and monitors, and perform documentation procedures
  • proficiency in math, written and spoken English and computer skills are required
