Sheryl approaches CPE as transformative education, as she draws on the "community of truth" model espoused by Parker Palmer. She focuses on the lively interplay and integration between a person's story, theology, ministry practice and goals in her supervision. Other important influences shaping her curriculum have been Self Psychology, The Stone Center, Process Theology and Feminist Spirituality.
