This class includes the basics of breastfeeding, but goes more in depth into common problems and their solutions, pumping and storing, and weaning. Partners are also encouraged to attend this class to learn how to be more supportive of the breastfeeding mother.
For expectant parents in the last three months of pregnancy who have not previously taken childbirth classes and can not fit a 4 week series into their schedule. This class meets one time and covers a condensed version of the regular childbirth classes. A physician will attend for a question and answers session. There will be a break for lunch. Please bring a blanket and two pillows to each class, and wear comfortable clothing and bring snacks.
4 week series of classes is designed for the couple or a birthing "coach" and mother from 26 weeks through 38 weeks of pregnancy. A tour of the Birthing Center will be offered during each class series. A Physician attends one class for a question and answers session. Wear comfortable clothing, and bring a blanket and two pillows to class.
This is a two class series for expectant parents who have previously completed a childbirth education series with a previous birth. This class reviews breathing techniques and provides an update on childbirth procedures and Cesarean deliveries. A tour of the Birthing Center will be given.
Please bring a blanket and two pillows and wear comfortable clothing to the first class.
(Couples will join the 2nd and 3rd session of in-progress Childbirth Preparation Class)
This one time class is designed to help prepare children for the arrival of a new sibling. It will also give helpful hints to parents on helping their child to adjust to the new baby. Designed for children over age 3 years and their parent(s). This class also includes a tour of the Birthing Center.
