For expectant parents in the last 3 to 4 months of pregnancy. This class will address the same topics as the Birth and Parenting Preparation class, with additional time spent on postpartum and newborn topics. Class includes the information covered in breastfeeding. Topics include:
Challenges, joys and concerns of pregnancy
Labor process
Birth options
Cesarean birth
Medical care and decision making
Breathing, relaxation and labor support techniques
Care of the newborn
Adjustment to your new role as parents
Tour of the maternity unit
Breastfeeding:getting started, separating facts from myths about breastfeeding, supplies, how to prevent problems and solutions if they occur, introduction to breastfeeding and working, techniques for supporting the breastfeeding woman. |
