Gain the confidence to exercise on your own.
If you’re at risk for heart or lung disease, or have a chronic condition, the Wellness and Exercise for Life (WEL) program can help you develop and reach your fitness goals, and improve your quality of life.
Is the WEL program right for you?
The WEL program can help improve the health and fitness of people with a variety of conditions, including:
- Diabetes
- Excess weight
- Heart disease (angina, stents, heart attack)
- Heart failure
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Lung disease
- Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
How the WEL program works for you
Our staff works with you to develop an exercise program and goals tailored to you. Therapists evaluate your blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, heart rhythm and oxygen saturation, and make recommendations for how often these need to be monitored and recorded.
The WEL program allows you to exercise with confidence in the security of our rehabilitation gym. Our exercise specialists will supervise and support you. Working together, you’ll improve your level of fitness and reduce your risk of heart disease and long-term health issues.
Work at your own pace
Fairview’s WEL program allows you to work independently and at your own pace. And our staff is available to answer questions and to assist you with your exercise program. The program will help you to maintain an active lifestyle and gain the confidence to continue independent exercise.
Cost
Fairview’s WEL program is not covered by insurance. Cost of the initial assessment is $40. Participation in the program is $49 per calendar month regardless of the number of times you attend. Scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance.
