Rehab Services Continuing Education

Learning opportunities for rehabilitation professionals

Fairview Rehabilitation Services offers a variety of continuing education courses for rehabilitation professionals. Courses are open to both Fairview and non-Fairview employees, unless otherwise noted.

Fairview Rehabilitation Services is an approved provider for:
  • American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)  (AOTA does not endorse specific course content, products, or clinical procedures.)
  • Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)


We also submit for Category 1 course approval from the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy.

Continuing Education Policies and cancellation policy

Discounts: Fairview Rehabilitation Services employees attend courses without a fee.  If you are not a Fairview Rehab Services employee, but are a Fairview employee or University of Minnesota Medical Center employee, you will receive a 50% discount. 

Students in an accredited PT, PTA, OT, COTA, SLP, Audiology or AT program are eligible to receive a 50% discount

Group discounts
If three people from the same organization register for a course, each person will receive a 10% discount. Four or more registered will receive a 15% discount. You must register at the same time.  Please email or call ahead of time with the names of the people who will be registering as a group, rehabce@fairview.org or 612-672-5607.

Fairview Rehab Services CEU/Contact hours and policy: 
Physical Therapy-courses that have been approved for category I PT credit are not eligible for partial credit. If a PT participant leaves a course early, the CE coordinator must be contacted to remove the Category I approved Language and adjust the contact hours to reflect the time the staff member spent in the course..
Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology - AOTA and/or ASHA approved provider courses will not be granted partially approved credits. If an OT or SLP participant leaves a course early, the CE Coordinator must be contacted to modify the certificate to remove the approved provider status language and adjust the contact hours to reflect the time the staff member spent in the course.
Athletic Trainers-BOC-Partial credit is allowed. CE Coordinator must be informed prior to course to amend the contact hours on the certificate.
