Carol Klitzke, MS, CCC/SLP, Clinical Specialist is a speech-language pathologist and voice specialist at the Fairview Voice Center in Minneapolis. She brings more than 20 years experience to the specialty care of voice/larynx and swallowing disorders.  Carol's experience involves teaching, training and consulting for music educators, performers, clergy, instructors and graduate students.  She has taken advanced training in videostroboscopy techniques, Vocal Cord Dysfunction and Lee Silverman voice training. 
Carol's presentation audiences include the Voice Care Network courses, National and state Music Educators Conferences, Sweet Adelines' national/regional conferences and Minnesota school districts' meetings and numerous professional training sessions.
Her credentials are a Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Wisconsin, Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and SLP-Minnesota License. Prior to joining Fairview she was in private practice with voice educator/voice specialist Leon Thurman, EdD. She has been an adjunct instructor at St. Cloud State University, and a guest lecturer at University of Wisconsin River Falls. She is on the faculty and Board of the VoiceCare Network.

Babette Lightner
is director of Stones in Water - An Alexander Technique and Learning Methods Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Her work helps people function with efficiency and intelligence so they reduce or eliminate pain, stress and unnecessary tension. She is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator, has a degree in  Dance, is a Certified Teacher of the Alexander Technique and Learning Methods™. Lightner has lectured and taught for many universities, institutions and organizations including the University of Minnesota, Guthrie Theater, Sister Kenney Institute, Balk Opera Music Institute, Voice Center of Fairview, and with the internationally acclaimed  a cappella group Rajaton. She is pioneering a new paradigm for understanding human structure and function in her practice and the movement work she has developed called Wholeness in Motion™.  She maintains an active workshop and lecture schedule.

Elizabeth Grefsheim, is co-founder and co-Director of The Son-Sheim Music School/Sondance Studios in Spring Lake Park, Anoka, and Burnsville, Minn.
Ms. Grefsheim directs "Jubilation Singers" children's choir, teaches private voice for all ages and is the Associate music director at Epiphany Catholic Church in Coon Rapids, where she directs three adult groups, youth band and youth choir. Ms. Grefsheim directs choral festivals of all age levels and presents workshops and vocal/choral clinics throughout the United States. 
Through teaching singers of all ages, Ms. Grefsheim seeks to empower each individual to discover their potential. Utilizing evidence based voice knowledge; Ms. Grefsheim facilitates self-discovery through voice exploration. She hopes to inspire others through her love of music. 
Ms. Grefsheim has directed youth state honor choirs, with the most recent including Alabama, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is a frequent adjudicator for the Minnesota State High School League. Ms. Grefsheim is Associate Executive Director and faculty member of The VoiceCare Network. She is active member of MENC and ACDA.

Course description
Experience and explore YOUR voice as it soars high and low, flows through pitch patterns, shifts registers and sings songs. Dynamically move your body to remove obstacles and facilitate efficiency. Apply the techniques of singing, body flow and rhythm to your patient treatments.

This is a pilot course presented to Fairview SLPs by the Voice Care Network and Fairview Voice Center under the guidance of Juliet Zarich, Fairview Continuing Education Department.

Attendee will be able to demonstrate at least 3 laryngeal voice evaluation tasks.
Attendee will be able to demonstrate at leas 3 interrelationships between body, mind and voice.
Attendee will be able to state 6 applications of these techniques to their patients.
