Your child will directly benefit from highly specialized academic medicine and research that comes from our unique partnership with University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. Hospitalists, doctors who solely focused on caring for children and infants in the hospital, provide care 24/7 on-site at Fairview Ridges Hospital. No other hospital in the Minnesota River Valley offers such a high level of specialized care.
Pediatric hospitalists are primary care physicians who specialize in caring for pediatric patients solely in the hospital. Because of this, hospitalists have more experience in caring for complex pediatric medical conditions.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
When babies need more specialized care, the newly renovated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Fairview Ridges Hospital provides personalized, family-centered care. As one of only five percent of U.S. hospitals with a NICU, our Level III NICU is equipped to care for infants born at 30 weeks gestation and above. The Fairview Ridges unit is staffed around the clock with neonatal nurse practitioners working in tandem with a team of neonatologists from University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.
Our experienced doctors, nurses and care givers care deeply about pediatric medicine and treated more than 12,000 children in 2013.
Infants, children and teens have unique rehabilitation needs. Our therapists are trained to evaluate and care for children at all stages of development from neonatal to age 17. We use the most up-to-date tests and measures to help your child develop, improve or regain skills in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
