Hospital services
Fairview dietitians are vital members of the health care team and provide nutrition therapy as appropriate to patient needs while in the hospital and after they leave. They respond to requests made by physicians, nurses, patients and other health care team members.
Fairview dietitians also participate in patient care rounds to help identify patients who are in need of nutrition intervention. They identify nutrition risk based on diagnosis, nutrition complications, social/diet history, laboratory tests and comparative measurements. Based on their assessment, a personalized treatment plan will be developed. Dietitians work to help patients understand the relationship between nutrition and their illness.
