Vitamin D Deficiency Methodology Change
Now performed by chemiluminescence immunoassay which measures total Vitamin D. D3&D2 determinations available by special request only.
American Cockroach Allergen (AI206)
The Immunocap reagent is currently backordered nationally. German Cockroach (AI6) allergen testing is the recommended subsitute.
Estradiol (E2) Reagent Change
Effective immediately a new reagent will be used to assay E2. The current reagent is no longer available. The new reagent has a slightly low level bias as compared to the current reagent, therefore reference ranges will be adjusted. The laboratory recommends ordering Sensitive E2 (E2S) for men, children and post-menopausal women when anticipating low level results.

Connectivity

Fairview Diagnostic Laboratories can interface from the physician office's electronic health record (EHR) to Fairview's laboratory computer system to meet the new Meaningful Use requirements of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Orders and results interfaces will extract laboratory orders from and deliver the patient's laboratory results directly into the customer's EHR. We also offer a browser-based portal software application, with connectivity via the web for an efficient laboratory ordering, tracking and reporting system.
