Fairirview clinics and hospitals offer on-site anticoagulation (Coumadin™) therapy at most locations as a way to help patients manage their dosing, understand the reasons for the medication and reduce potential complications. Anticoagulation therapy helps monitor and ensures the safety of patients who use blood thinners since the slightest adjustment to blood thinning medications, the additional of other medications such as antibiotics and dietary changes can affect patient’s blood levels. At Fairview’s anticoagulation clinics patients are given extensive information on dietary, exercise and social habits (such as smoking, drinking alcohol) as well as a drug interaction guide (over-the-counter and prescription) that may impact the effectiveness of the anticoagulation medications.
Fairview features nearly 4,000 providers practicing at over 200 locations throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and beyond. Fairview Clinics, University of Minnesota Physicians and our independent partner clinics provide an exceptional care experience, while lowering the overall costs of health care.
