Critical Care
Caring for the sickest patientsWhen your life is in danger because of a health emergency or accident, Fairview offers care to give you the best chance possible. Patients with life-threatening problems need special care – our hospitals and medical centers at Fairview have doctors who are experts in this type of care.
These doctors, called intensivists, are trained in caring for people with complex health needs. Many of these patients are cared for in our intensive care unit (ICU). At Fairview hospitals and medical centers, we partner with University of Minnesota Physicians (UMP) to care for our sickest patients. These doctors are board-certified in critical care medicine with advanced training in monitoring and treatment of life-threatening and/or complex medical or surgical conditions.
