Delivering the best in family care

The Birthplace at Fairview hospitals and medical centers deliver over 11,000 babies each year in the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota. We offer many choices in childbirth. In labor and delivery, you can choose to have a “natural birth” without the use of any pain medications or you can customize your birth plan to include pain medication as directed by your doctor. Families can take advantage of many services that support new moms and provide an exceptional birth experience including private birthing rooms, lactation services, newborn nurseries and NICUs.

Routine and complex births are handled with special care by The Birthplace team which includes obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatalologists, nurse practitioners, midwives, nurses and more. If your newborn needs more advanced care than available at your Birthplace, we partner with University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis to give our smallest babies the best chance.
