The Birthplace
Breast feeding can be beneficial for new babies for nutrition and also for bonding between mother and baby. Fairview hospitals, medical centers and clinics provide certified lactation consultants to help new moms and babies who need extra assistance with breast feeding. Lactation support is available following birth in the hospital and is also available on an outpatient basis.
Inpatient Lactation Services
In the hospital, our nurses will answer questions, help new mothers learn breastfeeding and provide one-on-one assistance. If there are problems or concerns, a lacation educator or consultant may be called.
Outpatient Lactation Services
Support at home. Because it is important to us that mothers breastfeed their babies successfully, we also support you at home. Lacatation consultants are available to meet in our office locations below. The cost may be covered by insurance. Call your preferred location to schedule an appointment.
