Current Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellow
David Rust, MD, sports medicine fellow 2012-2013, grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho. He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry in 2002 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and worked as a lab technician in the Department of Human Genetics. He graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Neb. in 2007 where he co-founded the Magis Clinic, a free medical clinic for the homeless and uninsured. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. and worked with the University of New Mexico Lobo athletics programs, Sandia Prep High School football, and the New Mexico Mustangs hockey. His interests include alpine skiing, mountain biking, and fly fishing.

His wife Erin is a pediatric hospitalist and graduated from Creighton Medical School. They have two children Paul and Marie.
