The Fairview Current Concepts in Sports Medicine annual conference features national, regional, and local leaders in sports medicine and orthopedics who will share the latest in research and treatment through expert lectures with questions-and-answers panel discussions, and relevant workshops on clinically important topics.

Audience
This conference is appropriate for physicians, physician assistants, athletic trainers, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, chiropractors, occupational therapists and other sports medicine providers.

Purpose Statement
The purpose of this conference is to present case-based, cutting-edge medical information on sports medicine and sports related injuries that sports medicine professionals can directly apply to the care of their athletic population. At the conclusion of the course, participants should be able to:
  • Discuss orthopedic biomechanical assessment methods, including technological advances.
  • Demonstrate clinical decision making including surgical indications, operative procedures and post-operative rehabilitation procedures.
  • Identify musculoskeletal pathology and treatments specific to an athletic population.

Fairview Health Services is accredited by the Minnesota Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Fairview Health Services designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Physical Therapists
This course qualifies for 11.0 Category 1 credits under Minnesota rule MN Rule 5601.2400, Subpart 1, A.

Athletic Trainers
Fairview Sports and Orthopedic Care (BOC AP#: P8345) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 11.0 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should only claim those hours actually spent in the educational program.

Occupational Therapists
This course qualifies for 11.0 contact hours under Minnesota Statute 148.6443 Continuing Education requirements.

Chiropractors
Application for Continuing Education credit has been submitted to the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Other Health Care Professionals
Other health care professionals are responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education through their appropriate accrediting organizations or state boards.

These guest room rates are available 3 days prior and 3 days after the conference dates, subject to availability of guest rooms at time of reservation.

Registration Fees and Cancellation Policy
Register by April 1, 2016 to take advantage of the early registration discount. Registration fee includes access to PDFs of conference materials, continental breakfasts, lunch and refreshment breaks.
Complimentary parking is available in the attached parking ramp.
Cancellations received on or before April 29, 2016 will be returned, less a $40 administration fee. Cancellations after April 29, 2016 are non-refundable. Contact Fairview On Call at 612-672-7272.
