Caring for those with breast cancer

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women.  It is estimated that one in eight women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.  Fortunately, more and more women are surviving breast cancer each day, due to earlier diagnosis and more effective treatments.  At Fairview, our breast cancer services, technologies and experienced personnel provide women with the best care available.

Early detection and prevention are a proirity and we offer advanced breast imaging technologies, such as digital mammography, breast MRI and more.  Our team of specialists also provide state-of-the-art surgical, medical and radiation therapies, as well as supportive care and long-term follow-up programs to help women and their families manage all aspects of their treatment and recovery.
 
 Always call your doctor right away if you notice any of the following, as they could be a sign of breast cancer:

  • Skin irritation or dimpling
  • Nipple pain or the nipple turning inward
  • Redness or scaliness of the nipple or breast skin
  • Discharge (other than breast milk)
  • A lump or swelling
