The Nursing Research Council (NRC) must review all research conducted by or involving (affecting) nurses at the University of Minnesota Medical Center or University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. The NRC must review and approve research studies prior to the research occurring at the medical center or children's hospital.

Fairview Ridges Hospital

 The purpose of the FRH NRC is to: facilitate bedside nursing research, disseminate nursing evidence-based practice, evaluate and critique nursing research for application, provide support to nurse researchers, provide for protection of nursing research subjects, review nursing research proposals with feedback to principle investigator and IRB, and develop networks with nurse researchers and academic institutions. It meets quarterly in conjunction with the Nursing Practice Council.
