Investigational Drug Services (IDS)
The University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, Investigational Drug Service (IDS) is the pharmacy service responsible for managing and dispensing investigational drugs for Fairview Health Services and the Academic Health Center (AHC).
The IDS pharmacy is staffed by pharmacists and technicians who are specially trained in the research process. All studies involving investigational drugs must be registered with the IDS, even if the pharmacy is not doing the actual dispensing of study medications.
