Molly was a second-time mom who was scheduled to have a routine C-section at Fairview Southdale Hospital on Aug. 3, 2012. Her first child, William, was delivered at another local hospital.
Molly says she was amazed by the quality of care she received from her doctor, Lisa Baker, MD, along with her nurses at Fairview Southdale Hospital from the moment she walked in the door to the time she left. “They really put me at ease. I couldn’t get over how attentive they were. I couldn’t have done it without them,” says Molly.
Molly’s C-section was successful without any complications—she delivered a healthy baby girl named Lily. After Lily was born, Molly was also able to take advantage of the inpatient lactation experience that is offered at The Birthplace. “The lactation experts taught me little pointers and I received a lot of education throughout my entire experience,” continues Molly.
The staff at Fairview Southdale Hospital taught Molly a lot that she didn’t learn during her first birth experience. When comparing her first hospital experience with her experience at Fairview Southdale Hospital, she says, “It’s like comparing Target and Nordstrom. It was such a night and day experience. The staff at Fairview Southdale Hospital was able to anticipate my needs before I even knew what they were. It was so different from my first experience. I felt like I was hanging out at the Westin.”
Molly recommends The Birthplace at Fairview Southdale Hospital to any expectant mother. “Fairview Southdale Hospital is the best hospital to deliver a baby.”
