Medical and surgical units: Suggested hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Moms and babies: Fathers, siblings and grandparents may visit at any time. For other visitors suggested hours are 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Consult with nursing staff as visiting hours vary according to the patient's wishes and condition.
Visitor Guidelines:
- Anyone with an infectious illness or recent exposure to a contagious disease, such as chickenpox, flu or measles, should not visit the hospital.
- Smoking is not permitted in the building or on the campus grounds.
- We are fragrance-free and latex-free. Please avoid wearing perfume or aftershave. Do not bring latex balloons as gifts.
- Maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
- Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatment.

Kids Surgery Night
Children having ear, nose or throat surgery may attend a free Kids Surgery Night designed to take the scariness out of surgery. They put on a mask and gown and make a hand print to welcome them back after they wake up from surgery. Mom and dad will learn what to expect, too.

Screening for colorectal cancer
Colonoscopy and endoscopic screening for colorectal cancer are the number one procedures done in the endoscopy department at Fairview Lakes Medical Center. If you are over the age of 50 or if you have a history of colon cancer in your family, ask your primary care provider to refer you for an endoscopic procure. The procedure can discover and remove small polyps in the colon before they become cancerous.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has named Fairview Lakes Medical Center as a Blue Distinction Center+ in Knee and Hip Replacement. The Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care® program is a national designation awarded by Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality specialty care. New Fairview Clinic in North Branch will open April 30
Fairview Clinics – North Branch will move to its new location at 5366 386th St. on April 30, 2013. This new 18,000 square-foot clinic west of Interstate 35, at the intersection of Falcon Avenue/County 68 and Highway 95, will more than double the size of the current clinic. In addition to expanded patient care space, the new facility will include added services and a drive-through pharmacy.
Patient care services provided at this new location include Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB-GYN, Podiatry, Mammography and Diabetic Education and Nutrition Services. Additional services will include a Fairview Pharmacy, Fairview Lakes Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, and eye care services provided by Total Eye Care.
“This is an exciting opportunity to expand our commitment to the North Branch community and the region,” states Steven Endrud, Vice President of Operations for Fairview Clinics. “This state-of-the-art clinic gives patients access to new services and specialists at a single location. Our Fairview Pharmacy is open to the public and its drive-through will be very convenient.”
Paula Rehder, MD, who has been practicing at the North Branch clinic for 16 years, is excited about the move. “The additional exam rooms and services will allow us to provide more streamlined care in a beautiful space provided by the same team you have always trusted, along with new smiling faces” she says. “Plus, the new location is less than 15 minutes away from Fairview Lakes Medical Center, where our team admits patients and delivers babies.” Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming provides additional specialty care to the community as well as Birthplace and emergency/trauma care.
In addition to Fairview Clinics and United Properties, the project team includes architect BDH & Young, civil engineer EVS and general contractor RJM Construction. Fairview and developer United Properties began construction September 4, 2012.

The rankings are included in the recently released 2012 HomeCare Elite™ report, a compilation of top-performing home health agencies. Now in its seventh year, the report gave rankings to 2,364 home health agencies using an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement, and financial performance.
Fairview Lakes Medical Center designated as a Level 3 trauma hospital
The Minnesota Department of Health recently designated Fairview Lakes Medical Center, Wyoming, Minn., as a Level 3 trauma hospital. Fairview Lakes Medical Center and staff voluntarily participated in the intense designation process required to become part of Minnesota’s statewide trauma system. The process included an outside review of the hospital’s resources and capabilities to care for trauma patients. The facility met standards of commitment, clinical and equipment resources and staff training. The hospital also participates in a continuous performance improvement process.
