We believe that total patient care means caring for mind, body and spirit. Our chaplains provide spiritual care and counsel to all patients and families who are open to and have need for their services.
About our chaplains
Our chaplains care for patients at Fairview Lakes Medical Center, Fairview Lakes HomeCaring & Hospice and in nearby outpatient clinic and behavioral health settings as requested. Chaplains can provide prayers and rituals to meet patients’ expressed religious needs in many different faiths. The chaplains also provide staff support and education and speak to community education and support groups on request.
Calling on a chaplain
Simply call 651-982-7760, or ask your caregiver to contact a chaplain for you. A chaplain is available on campus Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. At all other times, leave a phone message and the on-call chaplain will return your call.
In a medical crisis
In a medical crisis, our on-call chaplain may be paged on request. Please let your nurse know if you would like to speak to a chaplain in a medical emergency. Or call the switchboard operator and ask the operator to page the on-call chaplain for Fairview Lakes Medical Center.
A small meditation chapel is located on the main floor near the information desk. Patients, visitors and families of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for worship, prayer and quiet reflection.
Notifying local clergy
On admission, we ask patients if they would like us to notify their priest or pastor. We will contact a priest or pastor on your request.
