Interpreter Services
Free Interpreter services are available on request for patients at Fairview Lakes Medical Center or any of its clinics and related services. Interpreter services are coordinated through Interpreter and Translation Services. Interpreters can be provided in person or over the telephone.

Interpreters can be made available onsite at Fairview Lakes Medical Center if requested 24 hours or more in advance. If you need an interpreter while you are a patient at the hospital/medical center, tell your doctor or nursing staff or call the number below during regular business hours.

For immediate needs (ASAP, same-day or less than 24 hours)
Call 612-273-3780, choose option No. 3.

When asking for an interpreter, be ready to provide the following information:
  • The patient’s preferred/primary language
  • Date and time of visit
  • Name, phone number and date of birth
  • Location for the interpretation
  • Name and phone number of person asking for the interpreter
  • Subject of the interpretation (type of visit)

Interpreters for Deaf, Hard of Hearing Blind or Low Vision
We offer American Sign language (ASL), oral and tactile interpreters to patients who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or who have low vision. Telecommunication devices for the deaf (TTY), Pocket Talkers and phone amplifiers are available at no cost.
