The mission of the Fairview Lakes Medical Center Auxiliary is to provide support and enhance services and
communication to patients, community and staff, while fostering a community atmosphere that
embraces the values of service, dignity, compassion and integrity.
Our auxiliary fulfills its mission by supporting Fairview Lakes Medical Center's programs and services and giving scholarships for students entering health care careers. The auxiliary informs members about important local and national health care issues.

About our auxiliary
With more than 350 members, the Fairview Lakes Medical Center Auxiliary is one of the largest health care auxiliaries in Minnesota. Auxiliary members can choose to be active or supporting. Active auxiliary members have many chances to serve Fairview Lakes Medical Center through fund-raising and "friend-raising" events. Funds raised support patient care, equipment needs and health care scholarships for deserving local students and staff. Friend-raising activities, such as the annual Fall Brunch, bring us together for fun and friendship and welcome new members to our ranks.
The auxiliary's annual fund-raising activities include:
• Spring salad luncheon – May
• Bike, Walk, Run 'n' Roll - June
• Garden Tour – July
• Seasonal craft bazaars – spring and fall
• Vendor product sales at the medical center
• Fairview Lakes Medical Center Gift Shop
• Festival of Tables - Nov.
• Love LightsTree Lighting Ceremony
Funding process
Each year the auxiliary approves close to $50,000 in projects to enhance patient care. Managers at Fairview Lakes Medical Center and nearby clinics may apply for auxiliary funding to support a needed item or service. Contact Auxiliary Liaison Carla Norelius at 651-257-8806 to apply.
Auxiliary Scholarships
In June, the auxiliary will award $16,000 in scholarships to high school graduates and adult students pursuing health care careers. Money for scholarships comes from funds raised by the auxiliary, from Fairview Lakes Medical Center and from scholarship funds that the Auxiliary manages on behalf of the donors.
How to apply
To apply for a scholarship, a student must be entering a health care career and meet several other guidelines. Scholarship applications are available beginning Jan. 1 each year. Completed applications must be received no later than April 1. Scholarships are awarded each June. For information, contact Carla Norelius, 651-257-8806 or cnoreli1@fairview.org.
