Fairview Hospice needs volunteers to provide comfort, support and guidance for hospice patients and their families. Consider being a part of the Fairview Hospice care team.
Fairview Hospice is able to provide many of its services because of the generous spirits of our volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, consider one of these opportunities.
-
Direct Patient Care Volunteers -Provide respite care in either the patient's home or nursing home in order to give caregivers a break. Volunteers provide companionship, socialization, emotional support, light housekeeping and run short errands.
-
Bereavement Volunteers - Assist the bereavement coordinator with follow-up calls to the patient’s caregiver for 13 months following a death. Offer emotional support as well as information about grief resources.
-
11th Hour Volunteers - The 11th Hour Volunteers are specially trained volunteers who assist the family as the patient is drawing close to death.
-
Office Volunteers - Assist with typing, filing, labeling, organizing and assembling mailings.
-
Special Event Volunteers - Assist with events such as the annual memorial service and pre-holiday event sponsored by Fairview Hospice.
Volunteer Requirements:
