Scott Ahrenholz, D.O., CAQ, is a non-surgical orthopedic and sports medicine physician who sees patients of all ages at Fairview Sports and Orthopedic Care in Wyoming, Minn., located on the Fairview Lakes Medical Center campus. He provides care for a broad spectrum of muscle, bone and joint conditions with the goal to maximize performance, prevent injury and return individuals to sport and daily life activities as quickly as possible.
Dr. Ahrenholz earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois in 2004, completed a residency in pediatrics at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2007, and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Kettering Sports Medicine Center in Kettering, Ohio, in 2008.
Board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Ahrenholz obtained his certificate of added qualification, CAQ, in sports medicine in 2008. He provides physician coverage for area high school athletic teams and community sporting events. While in Ohio he provided physician coverage for a number of high school and college level athletic teams as well as for the Dayton Bombers professional hockey team and the Dayton Dragons baseball team.
Dr. Ahrenholz is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). His special medical interests include injury prevention and treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems and return to activity recommendations.
Dr. Ahrenholz enjoys running, cycling, duathlon, triathlon, skiing, adventure racing and travel.
