Certified athletic trainer and clinic supervisor Chuck Barta brings more than 20 years of experience to Fairview Sports & Orthopedic Care. He earned his degree in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1988 and since that time has cultivated wide-ranging experience and skills in sports medicine and orthopedics.

An athletic trainer with the Minnesota Vikings for 18 years, he served as head athletic trainer for the last seven years of his Vikings tenure. In this capacity, he was responsible for the care, treatment and safety of the franchise’s players, and served on numerous, innovative National Football League (NFL) committees, including occupational health and the subcommittee for cardiovascular health.

Since leaving the Vikings he has coordinated local medical coverage for area schools and events, including the 2006 USA Gymnastic Championship in Saint Paul, and has served as triage coordinator at Fairview Sports & Orthopedic Care in Burnsville. In addition to his patient care and clinic supervisor responsibilities in Rogers, he is a consultant for HQ, Inc., and is the head athletic trainer for the Minnesota Lynx basketball team.
