Make a difference

You can make a difference in the life of a grieving child.  Here’s what you can do to create a world where the needs of grieving youth are recognized, understood, and met.

Make a donation
Youth Grief Services is a free community service of Fairview Health Services.  To keep our services available, we rely on your donations and volunteer support.

Consider making a financial gift to support Youth Grief Services. When you indicate that your gift is for Youth Grief Services, your donation goes directly to support our services for grieving children.  Your generosity ensures that grieving children and teens find the hope and healing that they need. Donate today.

Give your time
To volunteer, please call at 952-892-2111 or email us.  Your help is needed for our support series, Camp Erin, as well as for behind-the-scenes clerical work.  Your gift of time and expertise makes a difference for grieving children and their families.

Spread the word
By educating the community about the needs of grieving children and teens, we can create a world that recognizes, understands, and meets their needs. To increase awareness and understanding of childhood grief, we are available to speak on a variety of topics, including:

  • Common grief reactions of youth
  • Impact of age & developmental growth on grieving youth
  • Talking with children about death
  • Talking with children about death rituals
  • Ways to support a grieving child

We are also available for consultations with individuals or groups, such as school or church staff.  If you need support as a parent in caring for a grieving child or as an agency that works with children, we are available to listen, offer guidance, and share ideas to support the children in your life.
