Medical Missions

Each year, hundreds of Fairview employees and retired staff participate in the Medical Missions program, bringing their skills and compassion to people throughout the world. Participants help meet the medical needs of underserved populations in more than 40 countries, mostly in Central America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Fairview employees, volunteers, retired employees and members of Fairview Physician Associates (FPA) are eligible to participate in the program.

“...What I was able to learn—medically, technically and socially—will have a lasting effect on me as I progress in my career."  —Natasha Rueth, surgical resident

“As a nurse, I believe it is not only a privilege, but also a responsibility to give to my community as a health care worker."  —Donnelle Heilman, RN

Giving to Medical Missions

Generous gifts allow Fairview Foundation to help cover the cost for many medical mission participants. If you're unable to take part in a medical mission but you'd like to help, you can still support Fairview’s Medical Missions by making a donation to the Fairview Foundation. One hundred percent of your gift to the Medical Missions program helps improve the health of communities at home and abroad.
