Fairview is participating in state’s online health insurance marketplace
Consumers across Minnesota have a new way to shop for health insurance—and Fairview is a part of it.
The new MNsure program offers health plans from multiple insurers in a standard format so consumers can compare plans and costs side-by-side.
An estimated one million Minnesotans not eligible for health insurance through their employer will purchase insurance on the online exchange within the next three to five years.
Fairview Health Network is on MNsure
As a leader in the movement toward accountable heath care, Fairview has established the Fairview Health Network (FHN). It's made up of providers who have come together to deliver products on the health care exchange that improve quality, enhance the patient experience and reduce the cost of care.
The Fairview Medical Group, along with FHN independent providers and the University of Minnesota Physicians’ specialty providers are collaborating with selected health insurance partners to offer health insurance products that individuals and small group employers can purchase on MNsure’s website.
Fairview Health Network is included in health insurance plans offered on the exchange by Medica, PreferredOne and UCare.
“We continue our relationships with Medica and PreferredOne, and we are excited to be partnering with UCare as it enters the commercial insurance market for the first time with its participation in MNsure,” says René Coult-Calendine, Fairview senior director of marketing, product development and outreach.
“This is a great way for us to reach more patients with high quality, well priced health care, and fulfill our mission as an organization to improve the health of the communities we serve,” says René.
Coverage takes effect Jan. 1
Coverage will be effective Jan. 1, 2014 for consumers who enroll this fall.
Consumers can access details about the plans through the MNsure website. For specific questions not answered on the website, call the MNsure Contact Center, 1-855-366-7873.
